A Chinese university has invented a device to simulate a remote kiss

A Chinese researcher has invented a device that allows long-distance couples to simulate a kiss using censors and silicone lips.

The device, patented at the Changzhou Vocational Institute of Mechatronic Technology in east China’s Jiangsu Province, is shaped like a human mouth and can “send a kiss gesture” by linking with a mobile phone via bluetooth, Chinese state media Global Times informed.

South China Morning Post informed the device can “simulate the actual pressure, movement, and heat of the kisser’s lips using sensors, allowing the device to send an exact copy of the smack to the recipient’s device.”

The device’s lead designer, Jiang Zhongli, explained that a seven-year long-distance relationship with his ex-girlfriend inspired the project, according to the South China Morning Post.

“At my university, I had a long-distance relationship with my girlfriend, so we only communicate with each other by phone. That’s where the inspiration for this device came from,” he said. Global Times.

The South China Morning Post noted that Jiang mentioned faking a kiss as another possible use for people suffering from oral diseases.

The device also had a feature known as Kissing Square, which allows users to match up with others, according to the South China Morning Post.

CNN marked The device is currently selling online for 288 yuan, or about $41, and has already received a lot of reviews.

“At first, my partner did not believe that a (remote) kiss was possible, so her jaw dropped when she used it … This is the best surprise that I gave her during our long-distance relationship,” one of the users quotes the publication. speaking.

However, CNN also noticed that others were less enthusiastic about the product, with one social media user saying, “I don’t understand (device), but I’m totally blown away.”

Global Times reported that the patent filed by Jiang in 2019 expired in January, and he hopes others will improve on his original design.
