A 16-year-old will be prosecuted as an adult for an accident that killed a woman and injured a 7-year-old in Miramar.

MIRAMAR, Florida. (WSVN) – Christian Bravo Gonzalez appeared in court on Friday morning.

A 16-year-old is being tried as an adult for the death of 30-year-old Christina Hernandez in Miramar last December, a few days before Christmas.

Police said Gonzalez was under the influence of marijuana and was driving at over 110 miles per hour.

He hit from behind and killed Hernandez and her unborn child. She was 5 weeks pregnant with their second child.

Gonzalez also severely injured her 7-year-old son.

On Friday, he appeared in adult court for the first time and is charged with a range of crimes.

The teen is being held on $505,000 bail.

If he pays, Gonzalez will be placed under house arrest and will have to surrender all of his passports.

He will have to take a drug test twice a week and be banned from driving.

The father was also accused of allowing his son to drive without a license.
