HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER). Around 1:24 a.m., the Hamilton Township Fire Department was sent to the South Gold Drive area in response to a car fire. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the aerial platform was operating on utility lines in the area and had apparently hit live wires. Initial reports indicated that the aerial platform had overturned and landed on top of the van. PSE&G was called to the scene to turn off the power. PSE&G crews cut off electricity in the area around 2:24 am.
An OSHA spokesman confirmed the worker’s death.
