COLLIER COUNTY, Florida. Today, the Water Resources Management District of South Florida, along with the National Park Service, laid the groundwork for a project to improve the flow of the Taylor Slough River.
The project will allow more clean water to flow through Taylor Slough into Florida Bay, which is an important component of the Everglades ecosystem.
The project will be installed at nine locations along the 3.2-mile section of the Old Ingraham Highway in the Everglades National Park. The project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2023.
