‘Loud boom’: Car bursts into flames at NYC’s Hudson Yards
A car burst into flames at Hudson Yards on Thursday — sending plumes of smoke into the air in Midtown and shocking onlookers.
The vehicle parked on West 33rd Street caught fire just before 11 a.m., with shocking videos and photos on social media showing it fully engulfed in flames, as first responders stood nearby.
“[I] was in the middle of an office video conference when we heard a loud boom,” a Twitter user going by the handle JarekFA — who posted a photo of the flaming car with thick black smoke billowing from it — told The Post in a message.
“Looked outside and it was fully engulfed in flames. It was flaming for a good 5 minutes or so,” he said. “There was a second boom so we were concerned maybe another car blew up.”
No one was injured in the blaze, the FDNY said. It was unclear what caused the fire.
The NYPD did not have any information on the blaze.
