Man still in hospital gown fatally struck on Belt Parkway

A man dressed in a Coney Island Hospital gown and with his admitting bracelets still on was fatally struck by a car when he tried to run across the Belt Parkway early Friday, authorities said.
The 58-year-old man ended up on the westbound part of the highway near Coney Island Avenue and the Brooklyn hospital around 5:50 a.m., cops said.
As he crossed the highway, he was struck by a passing Honda Accord sedan, police said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver stayed on the spot and was not charged.

It was unclear when or how the man left the hospital.
His identity was not immediately released.
