8 Texas Companies Featured in Forbes Top 100 Large Employers

In a study by Forbes and Statista, 45,000 employees of American companies were surveyed to find out whether they would recommend their employers to friends and family.

HOUSTON. About 45,000 employees of US companies with 5,000 or more employees were surveyed to find out which large employers are the best in America. Two Texas companies made it into the top 5, and eight made it into the top 100.

The study was conducted by Forbes and Statista.

According to Forbes, survey participants were asked if they would recommend their current employer to friends and family. They were also asked if there were other companies they could recommend.

Topping the list is the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which has 15,722 employees.

Coming in second on the list was the Houston Methodist Organization, which employs about 28,000 people.

Rounding out the top five is HEB, which employs about 145,000 people.

Texas companies in the top 100

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, which has nearly 19,000 employees, ranked 19th.

The United Services Automobile Association, an insurance company with about 36,000 employees, was ranked 42nd.

Southwest Airlines ranked 70th with 64,000 employees.

Dell Technologies and its 42,560 employees ranked 77th.

Keller Williams Realty was #96.
