8 dead after boat capsizes on San Diego beach

Rescuers on the spot found seven bodies of the dead, and pulling the victims out of the water up to their knees, CBP officers found eight dead.

Several life jackets and fuel drums were also found, according to the SDFD. All of the victims were turned over to San Diego County Medical Examiners.

Several agencies responded to the scene, including the San Diego Police, CBP, the US Coast Guard, State Lifeguards, and UC San Diego Police.

The SDFD said they were continuing to look for others on Sunday morning. The SDFD has not yet confirmed the total number of people on board the two boats.

Blacks Beach is a secluded stretch of beach under the bluffs in Torrey Pines on the Pacific Ocean in La Jolla, San Diego.

A press conference is expected later Sunday morning.
