72-year-old NYC man found stabbed to death in his bed

A 72-year-old man was found stabbed to death in his bed in Staten Island this week — in what police are investigating as a homicide.

A home health aide found the victim, identified as Eugene Reba, unconscious in his bed with multiple stab wounds to the torso on Monday morning, according to the NYPD.

After making the grisly discovery, the health aide called 911, and officers responded to the home in the 1200 block of Richmond Avenue at around 10:40 a.m., police said.

Reba was pronounced dead at the scene by EMTs.

The incident has been deemed a homicide, but no further details were immediately available.

Police would not say whether the victim was targeted as part of an isolated incident, or whether there is a threat to the general public.

As of Wednesday, no arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified.
