Russ Marchum, Treasure Coast Crimestoppers’ clue coordinator, said if you want a cash reward or just want to do the right thing, give them a call first.

“When you call us, your phone number just doesn’t go directly to our call center where it pops up in the caller ID. We pay out-of-state companies with the marvel of modern technology,” Marcham said. “In a millisecond, the number goes to them, and then it goes to the call center, and the company that we hire digitally encrypts the numbers, so that by the time it gets to our call center, your phone number doesn’t even show up, so you’re anonymous. We can sue.”
