4 more men sue accused of sexual harassment in New York

Court documents show a Manhattan urologist accused of sexually abusing a high school intern has received new similar allegations from four former male patients.

Three of the latest accusers were sexually assaulted by Dr. Darius Paduch at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center, where they were variously exposed to pornography, fondled, masturbated, and vibrated in examination rooms under the guise of “medical treatment.” “, the documents submitted on Monday said.

The fourth new victim, whose abuse began at age 14, was both a patient and a high school intern of the 55-year-old doctor, Manhattan Supreme Court documents say.

Earlier in December, Paduch was sued for allegedly sexually abusing another then 16-year-old student trainee and patient.

“You’re talking about a doctor and hospitals that patients have complete confidence in,” Mallory Allen, a lawyer representing the plaintiffs, told The Post.

The four new lawsuits allege that both NewYork-Presbyterian and Northwell Health, where Padukh still works, were warned of the abuse but did not investigate the complaints or take appropriate action against the doctor.

The lawsuit says a New York Presbyterian Church worker filed a complaint with the hospital’s human resources department alleging Padukh’s “unacceptable sexual behavior” back in 2012.

But the hospital “didn’t take any action to protect the patients,” court documents say.

Three of the four new plaintiffs say they were abused as adults while they were Padukh patients at the NewYork-Presbyterian in incidents that occurred from 2015 to 2019.

One in three says he was sexually abused by a doctor “several times” and that when the specialist committed the abuse, he “clung to [the patient]and demonstrated evidence of his own sexual arousal to [the patient]”, the lawsuit says.

The fourth new victim, whose abuse began at the age of 14, says she was abused from August 2015 to August this year. At the same time, he also interned as a high school student with Padukh in 2018, according to court documents.

All of the men state in their lawsuits that their experiences with Padukh caused them to suffer physical and “severe emotional and psychological distress”.

Both hospitals were negligent in allowing the violence and either knew or should have known what was going on, court documents say.

The men, whose names have not been released, are suing for unspecified damages.

Allen told The Post that since the original lawsuit was filed in December, she has received nearly a dozen calls from accusers, some of whom are still considering whether to pursue cases.

“For me, sexual abuse in this context is especially egregious because vulnerable people need medical attention and it’s quite scary to be prey in such an environment,” the lawyer said.

NewYork-Presbyterian and Northwell Health did not immediately return phone messages from The Post asking for comment.

Padukh hung up on The Post on Monday.
