3 students dead, 6 hospitalized for fentanyl linked to Carrollton drug deal: report

Three young Carrollton-Farmers Branch students died and six more were hospitalized in a string of incidents. fentanyl overdoses, most of them since December.

Ffederal investigators say each of these tragedies traces back to a single Carrollton home just a few blocks from R. L. Turner High School, where underage drug dealers as young as 14 picked up drugs and sold them to classmates.

The grim narrative was laid out in a criminal lawsuit filed against Luis Eduardo Navarrete and Magali Mejia Cano as the couple make their first appearance Monday afternoon in Dallas federal court on charges of conspiracy to distribute and possess to distribute a controlled substance. .
