3 injured in brazen shooting, crash on busy West Palm Beach street

WEST PALM BEACH, Florida — A brazen shooting and crash in broad daylight took place in the afternoon in West Palm Beach, injuring three people.

It happened around 1:30 p.m. Friday in the 4200 block of 45th Street.

Police called it a targeted incident, not an accidental shooting.

West Palm Beach police spokesman Mike Jackles said two different groups were involved in an ongoing dispute that spilled over into the driveway, injuring two people in the Nissan in the leg and arm.

A car was riddled with bullets after a shooting on 45th Street in West Palm Beach on February 3, 2023.

Jackles also said that a woman in her 50s who was driving east on 45th Street collided with one of the vehicles and that’s when the bullets started flying.

The police said that another vehicle involved in the conflict fled the scene.

“More than 45 rounds were found on 45th Street in the middle of a busy day,” Jackles said. “Of course, things could be much worse. We’re lucky, and the West Palm Beach Police Department is looking to get these weapons into the wrong hands.”

Police said the two men who were shot were not cooperating with law enforcement.

The woman who crashed into the car was injured and was taken to a local hospital. Police said she was expected to recover.
