OKEECHOBE COUNTY, Fla. — Following written threats to kill and seriously injure others at Osceola High School, one 14-year-old boy was arrested and an arrest warrant was issued for another boy, also 14, the Okeechobee sheriff said. The office said.

At around 8 a.m. Friday, a school resource employee received a message about a threat posted on the social network Snapchat on Thursday by two former Osceola High School students. WPTV does not name the minors, although they are listed in the press release.

The deputies met with the unidentified student and his parent at their home on Friday morning to confirm the Snapchat conversation. The deputies managed to accurately identify the persons who made the written threats.

One teenager who attends Palm Bay Southwestern High School was arrested at his residence and taken to the Okeechobee County Jail where he was charged with written threats to kill or cause bodily harm and was transferred to the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice . .

The last known whereabouts of the other teen is in Palm Bay and his arrest is imminent, the sheriff’s office said.
