17th Annual Bat Fest: A Night of Fun and Fascination Awaits

Austin, Texas, The 17th Annual Bat Fest is here, proudly presented by ZOA. This iconic event will feature a star-studded lineup, including the likes of Flo Rida, Mike Ryan, That Mexican OT, George Birge, Mike Jones, Alien Ant Farm, Lil Flip, Tim Dugger, and Dj Grip. Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 26, 2023, as the festivities will take place at the Ann W Richards Congress Avenue Bridge, along with the adjacent Austin American Statesman (AAS) parking lot. The event will run from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm on the bridge and from 4:00 pm to 11:59 pm in the AAS Lot.

In the heart of Downtown Austin lies a natural wonder that captivates the world. The Ann W Richards Congress Ave Bridge is home to the largest urban bat colony globally, housing 2 million Mexican Free-Tail Bats. During spring and summer evenings, these magnificent creatures take flight from their roosts, creating a breathtaking spectacle as they hunt for Texas insects. People from far and wide flock to the bridge to witness this awe-inspiring sight.

Roadway Productions is thrilled to present the 17th ANNUAL BAT FEST, an unrivaled celebration of live music, delectable food, family fun, engaging children’s activities, and, of course, the world-famous Congress Bridge Bats. By taking place on a bridge, this festival has become a unique tradition in Austin, Texas.

The event will feature two stages, each hosting spectacular live music performances. The Congress Bridge North Stage, situated at the north end of the bridge, will operate from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm and showcase one of our co-headlining artists. Simultaneously, the Austin American Statesman Stage in the parking lot will run from 4:00 pm to 11:59 pm, offering another sensational co-headlining act.

Alongside the phenomenal music, Bat Fest offers a plethora of attractions. Families can enjoy the kid’s zone, which features complimentary activities for young ones. Moreover, a wide range of delectable food and drink vendors will be available to satiate the cravings of festival-goers. Additionally, approximately 25 arts and crafts vendors will showcase their talents, adding a touch of creativity to the experience. Of course, no Bat Fest would be complete without the opportunity to witness the famous Congress Avenue Bridge Bats and marvel at the ingenious creations of the Austin Bike Zoo.

For those eager to observe the bats in action, bat viewing will be possible on the bridge and below it, specifically from the Statesman Lot. However, the exact timing of the viewing is subject to Mother Nature’s whims.
