1 person killed, 1 injured after a car crashed into a building in Kings Point near Delray Beach.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Florida. One person died and another was injured Friday afternoon after a car crashed into a building and caught fire in southern Palm Beach County, fire and rescue officials said.

The crash happened around 4:45 p.m. near the intersection of Brittany Place and Brittany Lane in the Kings Point area.

Arriving crews found that the car crashed into the building and caught fire.

Palm Beach County Fire and Rescue officials said crews quickly extinguished the car’s fire and checked the inside of the building to make sure the fire did not spread.

One victim was taken to a local hospital with injuries. Doctors ascertained the death of another person at the scene.

A building inspector, as well as Florida Power and Light, were sent to the scene to assess the damage.

The cause of the crash is currently unknown.
