1 killed, 1 critically injured in motorcycle accident on I-10 near Baytown

Investigators believe the motorcycle crashed into a fence at high speed. At this time, two people were driving. One died and the other was seriously injured.

BAYTOWN, Texas. One person died and another was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in eastern Harris County.

The accident occurred Sunday evening on the eastern lanes of the Eastern Highway at Spur 330/Decker Road in the Baytown area.

According to investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the motorcycle driver overspeeded, lost control and crashed into a guardrail. The driver died and the passenger was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Although the condition is stable, the passenger has a long road to recovery, officials said.

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash, investigators said. The entire highway was closed while authorities worked at the scene.
