1 girl is in custody after stabbing another girl during a fight at ISD High School in Texas City, officials say.
Texas City ISD officials said one girl was taken to an area hospital and another was taken into custody after a fight late Tuesday afternoon.
LA MARK, Texas. A high school student was stabbed multiple times during a fight late in the day, according to Texas City Independent School District officials.
According to official records, the two girls got into a fight just minutes before the last bell at Giles High School.
They said that one of the students pulled out a penknife and hit another student several times.
The victim’s mother took her daughter to the district hospital for treatment. County officials said the girl “does not require hospitalization.”
Another student has been taken into custody and is expected to face charges, officials said.
It is not clear why the fight started.
District officials said metal detectors were installed at the school on Tuesday, but did not say if all students were forced to walk through them.
